The cab-forward sedan that was Chrysler’s answer to the Taurus and Camry. It was a big, comfortable, front-drive sedan with a spacious interior and a V6. It was a sales success, but it was also a bit boring.
The Concorde was a front-drive, unibody sedan on the LH platform. 1st gen (1993-1997): 3.3L V6 (150 hp) or 3.5L V6 (214 hp) and a 4-speed auto. 2nd gen (1998-2004): 2.7L V6 (200 hp), 3.2L V6 (225 hp), or 3.5L V6 (253 hp) and a 4-speed auto. It was a cab-forward design with a massive interior and a comfortable ride.
The 3.3L V6 is excellent. The 3.5L V6 is good. The 2.7L V6 is a disaster—it has oil sludge issues, timing chain problems, and water pump failures. The 4-speed auto (A606/42LE) is a weak link. The Concorde is a cheap used car, but avoid the 2.7L V6 at all costs.
