The sportier version of the New Yorker—a full-size luxury sedan that was all about the driver. It had the 3.5L V6, a stiffer suspension, and a sportier interior. It was Chrysler’s answer to the European luxury sedans, and it was a surprisingly good one.
The LHS was a front-drive, unibody sedan on the LH platform. It had a 3.5L V6 (214 hp) and a 4-speed auto. It was a cab-forward design with a sporty interior, leather seats, and a tighter suspension than the New Yorker. It was sold as a sport luxury sedan.
The 3.5L V6 is an excellent engine. The 4-speed auto (A606/42LE) is the weak link—it fails often. The LHS is a comfortable sport sedan, but the transmission is the problem. It’s a cheap used car, but factor in transmission replacement.
